Summary: The day was spent analyzing word problems with a particular focus on work problems and distance problems (Distance=Rate x Time).

Wednesday, January 4

Summary: Focus on factoring and simplifying equations, especially when you need to use the sum and difference of cubes/squares. Also today the concept of building denominators is introduced.  Also addresses on evaluating a function when using function notation. Practiced setting up functions based on word problems.  Homework.

Wednesday, December 14

Summary: Continue to analyze word problems.  Developing skills with easy, medium, and hard absolute value equations.  Homework.

Summary: Solved equations by factoring and focused on Area and Pythagorean Theorem word problems. Homework with Solutions.

Summary: Word problems addressing situations where multiple formulas and characteristics are combined, including SSS, area of a base, arc length, sector area, and Law of Cosines.

Summary: Entry Task addresses SSS in relation to Law of Cosines when it is necessary to find the area of a triangle.  Notes also include how to apply Law of Cosine and Law of Sines to word problems.
