Summary:Study day for trimester midterm.  Below is a list of tips for success.  Do the best job possible!

  • Finish Word Problems from 13.6 Handout
**Special Announcement!

The first trimester is half over and for Pre-Calculus, that means midterms! It's roughly 100 points and four pages long spread over the course of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mr. Radcliffe's Tips for Success:
  1. Know your mechanics!  Make sure your algebra skills are solid, that you know your formulas, and you understand the course material--no matter how long ago it was.
  2. Leave time for Word Problems!  Allow yourself extra time to read and reread word problems so you're better able to solve them.  This tip goes for most tricky problems--if you find yourself stuck on something, don't dwell on it; continue with the test and come back to it later.  Don't waste precious time.
  3. Control Stress.  It's not a cougar, right?  Try closing your eyes and taking 5 deep breaths.  It's only as bad as you make it.  Doing your best is all you can do.  So if your best is an 80%--awesome!!  Study, review, eat well, get good sleep--if you don't do well, you know what to improve on next time.  You wouldn't be in this class if you couldn't do it.
Good luck!

Fail. Fail Again.  Fail better.
